I was talking with my future landlord yesterday about the house I am getting soon for when I go to SJSU in the Fall. Besides all of the thoughts on how I am going to pay for it and tuition with a status of being temporary unemployed, I was feeling nostalgic on how I had dealt with my transition from Elementary to Middle school. It seemed like a week ago (big exaggeration) I was walking down the steps of my middle school to my first day of 6th grade, and on this upcoming Tuesday I am going to finalize the paperwork for lease and pay for rent..
It’s kind of a scary feeling to have to deal with all of this adult stuff, but thrilling at the same time. For the first time in my life, I am going to be on my own away from home. I am going to a University to further my education and get a degree in Environmental Studies, pay for rent, utilities, food, heck… basically everything for myself. My parents won’t be there to support me like they have been for the past 22 years of my life. I guess you could say, I have finally “left the nest”; the last of all my siblings to do this.
A milestone in my life as an adult. I look forward to the new world I am going to embrace myself into. It’s going to be exciting and probably a pain in some ways, but I am ready for it. A leap of Faith is all that’s going to take to ready me physically, mentally, and spiritually for what’s to come as I start my new life in SJ soon.
Bonedigger, a 500 lb lion and Milo, an 11 lb Dachshund have become the best of animal friends.
The 5 year old lion who is mildly disabled due to a metabolic bone disease and 7 year old Dachshund live together at GW exotic animal park in Wynnewood, OKla.
Milo was introduced to Bonedigger in 2008 when he was just a 4-week-old cub, and the two have been inseparable since. The animals cuddle, dine on raw meat together and even mimic each other.
